The exhibition "Our World in Photos - Connections" is the jumping off point for a discussion on the ways participatory photography can be an effective tool for research, teaching, and knowledge mobilization. The workshop will take place in the gallery, surrounded by the exhibition photographs for inspiration.
The facilitators will draw on elements of the exhibition, as well as their own experiences to share strategies, ideas, and tips for using photography in academic and community work.
This event is FREE for all to attend & please share this event with anyone who might be interested, most especially instructors, researchers, community leaders, senior students, and others interested in photography as an academic teaching, learning, and research tool.
Participants are asked to bring:
> a printed photograph that represents, reflects, or relates to your academic work in some way and that you are comfortable sharing
> their own lunches.
StFX Art Gallery, thanks to the Coady Institute, will provide coffee, tea, and baked goods.
