Biography

Dr. Steve Iduye is an Assistant Professor at the Rankin School of Nursing, St. Francis Xavier University. Dr. Iduye's academic background includes a Bachelor of Nursing from Athabasca University, a Master of Health Informatics from Dalhousie University, and a PhD from the University of Saskatchewan, with a specific focus on healthy aging and informatics (the use of interRAI tool in long-term care settings). He also holds a Diploma in University Teaching from the University of New Brunswick. Over the last two decades, Dr. Iduye’s professional career and experiences have spanned clinical practice in mental health and gerontology, IT management consulting, and academia. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Iduye also teaches concepts of aging and psychogeriatric in the Foundations of Canadian Nursing program for internationally educated nurses with the Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS). His research and teaching expertise bridge healthcare and technology, including workforce and health service utilization, mental health, healthy aging and informatics, health and illness across the lifespan, and chronic disease management. His research methodology encompasses both quantitative and qualitative designs, and his interdisciplinary background enables him to make meaningful contributions to evidence-based teaching and health systems innovation.
