Social adaptation, crop evolutionary ecology (Darwinian agriculture), sustainable food production.
I apply ideas from ecology and evolutionary biology to the global challenge of sustainable agriculture. The aim is to understand interactions among plants (and plant parts) and then use these insights to design productive and sustainable crops. Current research focusses on trait diversity in the A.E. Watkins wheat landrace collection.
